Female Entrepreneur Week starts Monday, and it will be dedicated to placing the spotlight on local “trailblazing women entrepreneurs” while also raising money through various initiatives for Girls Inc.
Female Entrepreneur Week, which spans April 26 through May 2, is hosted by Cromwell Media and presented by Sourhern Star Central Gas Pipeline.
“Our mantra for the week is empowering the women of today while inspiring the women of tomorrow,” according to a release from Cromwell Media.

Cromwell will spotlight the entrepreneurs’ businesses throughout the week. There are initiatives and events planned throughout the week to raise funds for Girls Inc. The entrepreneurs will also be connected with the members of Girls Inc. “to help support and inspire them to ensure their future success.”
Southern Star has offered to match up to the first $2,500 that is raised for Girls Inc. throughout the week.
There are three main events planned for Female Entrepreneur Week.
- Donation Drive-Thru presented by Southern Star:
- When: 11 a.m.-1 p.m., April 30
- Where: Cromwell Media Parking Lot, 1115 Tamarack Road
- What: Meals will be distributed in exchange for donations for Girls Inc.
- Who: Open to anyone.
- Empowering Female Entrepreneur Networking Event presented by Southern Star
- When: 2-3 p.m. May 2
- Where: Owensboro Sportscenter, 1215 Hickman Avenue
- What: A networking event designed to connect local female entrepreneurs. The event will take place in the VIP area of the Owensboro Sportscenter.
- Who: Participating female entrepreneurs. Businesses in the community can secure a table for the event by making a minimum donation of $100 to Girls Inc. Those interested in having a table at the event can call 270-683-5200.
- Owensboro Thoroughbreds game benefiting Girls Inc.:
- When: 3 p.m. May 2
- Where: Owensboro Sportscenter, 1215 Hickman Avenue
- What: The Owensboro Thoroughbreds will play the Indy Express. A check representing the funds raised for Girls Inc. will be presented during halftime. The participating local female entrepreneurs will also be recognized at halftime. The Thoroughbreds have four ways they will be raising money for Girls Inc. during the game:
- The Thoroughbreds will be wearing Girls Inc. themed jerseys which will be auctioned off during the game via a silent auction.
- There will be a 50/50 raffle held during the game.
- The Thoroughbreds will donate a portion of every ticket sold for the game directly to Girls Inc.
- A silent auction will be held during the game featuring products, gift baskets, certificates and more from the local female entrepreneurs.
