Another new experience is coming to Owensboro with “The District Mocktail/Cocktail Crawl.” From May 7-21, several bars/restaurants located within the city’s downtown entertainment district will be offering featured mocktails and cocktails at prices ranging from $2.50-$10.

“This is another way we’re trying to restart our entertainment economy here in Owensboro,” said Dave Kirk, destination management director for Visit Owensboro.  “Our goal is to get people to come try unique drinks in an effort to bring business to our local bars/restaurants. One thing I want to emphasize is mocktails will be offered at most participating locations, so you don’t have to drink alcohol to participate in the event.”

Visit Owensboro is posting a drinks guide to all of its social media channels that will include information on which bars/restaurants are participating, what drinks are offered, the cost of drinks, if the bar is kid-friendly, and hours of operation.

“It’s been a tough year to be in the bar business with COVID-19,” said Bill Brown, owner of The Pub On Second. “We’re so appreciative to Visit Owensboro for creating this unique event that will have an immediate economic impact on our business.  We’re excited to present both a fantastic cocktail and mocktail for people to try.”

Visit Owensboro reminds those who choose to consume the cocktails to drink responsibly and have a designated driver.

The participating businesses are all located within The District, which is a walkable area in downtown Owensboro.

Participating bars/restaurants include: The Pub on Second, Lure Seafood and Grille, Mellow Mushroom, The Crème, Don Marios, The Brew Bridge, Mile Wide Beer Co., SIP and Burger Theory.
