Matthews Table will be giving away food and hygiene products while supplies last Saturday morning from 10-11 a.m. at 100 W. 23rd St. — with plans to make the giveaway a monthly event.

One box of food will be given per family.

Nick Martin, a pastor at Matthews Table, said donations are always welcome.

“People can always donate canned foods, peanut butter and jelly, and hygiene products,” he said.

Committed to serving the west side of Owensboro, Matthews Table has made inner-city outreach and missional ministry a top priority.

Martin said moving forward, they will be doing the free food pantry on the second Saturday of every month.

“We also do a free community breakfast at 9:30 a.m. on the fourth Saturday of every month, and each Saturday we pass out free bus passes from 10-11 a.m. for anyone needing help with transportation.”
