Little piggies were hidden throughout the city Friday at Owensboro Parks & Recreation facilities. People who find them and participate in the unique scavenger hunt can win a handful of prizes.
The first day of the hunt was Friday, and dozens of people shared photos of themselves participating on the Parks & Rec Facebook Page.
The event is put on through a partnership with Kentucky Legend.
Participants are asked to keep track of the pigs by taking a photo and posting it with the following hashtags on social media: #OBKYParks #HAMBUSHED #KentuckyLegend.
Prizes will be given to special winners throughout the event. To be entered for a prize, participants must follow Owensboro Parks and Recreation’s social media page on Instagram or Facebook, post a picture of themselves with the pig, and use all hashtags listed above.
Participants must keep the hunt going by relocating the pigs at the same park where they were found.
Prizes include multiple Kentucky Legend products; a gas grill from Academy Sports and Outdoors; buffet dinners from Moonlite Bar-B-Q; Edge Ice Center giveaways; Ben Hawes and Hillcrest Golf Courses giveaways; a gift basket from Buff City Soap; and a gift basket from Hill View Farms.
There will be one grand prize provided by 92.5 WBKR. To be eligible, a participant must find a gold pig and take it to the WBKR studio.
