Construction on the Owensboro Veterans Affairs Clinic’s new location on East Parrish Avenue is expected to finish in June.
The current clinic location at 3400 New Hartford Road treats 3,000 veterans and conducted over 10,000 outpatient appointments in 2021.
They offer primary care — family and internal medicine — as their main service. Todd Wright, Public Affairs Officer for the Marion VA Health Care System, said that the new location won’t be an expansion on the services provided.
However, they will be growing their facility by 1,500 square feet at the 2060 East Parrish Avenue location — which is just west of the Springs Health Centre and across from McAlister’s Deli.
The additional room will be beneficial for the office and for visitors, Wright said. In the past, the current location received 84% positive reception from clients when it came to urgent care and 85% for routine care appointments.
