With the Lenten season now underway, churches, schools, and organizations within the Catholic Diocese of Owensboro are gearing up for their annual fish fries. Lent officially began today and ends on April 14, and during that time the U.S. Conference of Bishops asks Catholics to abstain from consuming meat on Fridays.
Friday fish fries have been a long-standing tradition in the Owensboro area, with the funds raised donated to charitable causes. The fish fries range in their offerings of dine-in and drive-through options and welcome everyone.
