Roughly 2,000 tree seedlings are being given away on April 22 by the Daviess County Conservation District in honor of Arbor Day and Earth Day. The event will take place at Horse Fork Creek Park (3005 Fairview Drive) starting at 8 a.m. and going until supplies last.
The seedlings are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and limited to 10 per person.
Varieties of tree seedlings available this year include bald cypress, eastern redbud, persimmon, wild plum, shellbark hickory, grey dogwood, pecan, red shumard oak, and white pine.
Descriptions are provided for each variety of tree, and planting instructions are available upon request.
