The Kiwanis Club of Owensboro’s annual “Walk of Honor” fundraiser, where American flags are placed and encircle the Daviess County Courthouse lawn, is already underway. The public is invited to sponsor a flag in honor/memory of someone special to them who has positively impacted their lives.

“The Walk of Honor is something that many people look forward to,” said Kiwanis Club President John Gleason. “All the flags waving in the wind surrounding the courthouse lawn provide such an uplifting and patriotic display for the entire community to enjoy.”

This year the Kiwanis Club will be erecting the flags earlier than usual for the Red, White and Blue event that will be held May 14 at the courthouse. The flags will be flown through July 4.

For each flag sponsored, a personalized certificate will be available. Sponsorship options are one flag for $40, two for $70, or three for $90. For each flag sponsored, there will be a tag identifying the name of the honor and the individual(s) honoring them.

All the proceeds from the flag and corporate sponsorships will support the many projects of the Kiwanis Club of Owensboro.
