Anyone who thinks they have the best lawn in the city has until Monday to submit their nomination for the “Owensboro’s Nicest Lawn in the Neighborhood” contest. One winner will be chosen from each of the 12 Owensboro Neighborhood Alliances, then a public vote will be held to determine the winner.

Anyone who believes their yard is worthy of the title can click here to submit their nomination and photos. The entry period is from May 16 through June 6. To be eligible, residents must live within the city limits of Owensboro and shall be 18 years or older.

The 12 finalists will be featured on the Owensboro Neighborhood Alliance Facebook Page, where they will compete for the grand prize.

Public voting will take place from June 20-27 and the winner will be announced on July 5. Each of the 12 finalists will receive a $100 gift card to Integrity Nursery & Outdoor Living, and the grand prize winner will receive a $500 gift card.

“The Owensboro Neighborhood Alliance Program is a partnership between citizens and city government that fosters citizen participation in community affairs,” said Adrienne Carrico, Neighborhood Alliance coordinator. “The Neighborhood Alliances enhance the livability of our community by creating and maintaining an open line of communication between the alliances and city government.”
