ROMP Around Town is a weekly music placement event coordinated by Volunteer Owensboro. With ROMP Fest set for June 22-25, the local nonprofit wanted to bring music to community members that might not be able to get out and attend. Facilities that work with the elderly and disabled and want to bring music, as well as groups interested in performing, are encouraged to reach out for more information.

ROMP Around Town will run from June 20-24. Volunteer Owensboro has already placed six music groups at six different places, including nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior housing, and more.

Groups include Shrimp n Grits, Randy Lanham and Wayne Morris, the Malone Family, the Fletcher Family, the Bluegrass Brothers, and the Bartlett Family. More will be added as needed.

Facilities and music groups interested in more information can email Randy Lanham at [email protected].

“The Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum believes in ‘Music with a Mission,’ and Volunteer Owensboro loves the idea of partnering with ROMP fest to help make that happen in the Owensboro area,” Lanham said.
