The public has a chance to review and comment on the master list of transportation projects planned for the area over the next 6 years. The plan includes all manner of transit projects, as well as the expected costs and funding options.
The Owensboro-Daviess County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) spans Fiscal Years 2023-2028.
The TIP is a schedule of all highway, rail, bike/pedestrian and transit projects in the Owensboro-Daviess County MPO; it also identifies total costs for the proposed projects as well as the funding sources to finance the projects.
In order to be eligible for federal funding, projects shall be included in the TIP once approved by the Owensboro-Daviess County Policy Committee, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the Federal Highway Administration, and the Federal Transit Administration.
A public review period is being afforded to Owensboro-Daviess County residents to make comments on the proposed TIP through November 11.
Copies of the proposed TIP are available at the Owensboro City Hall, Daviess County Judge-Executive office, Owensboro Transit System, Green River Area Development District office, Daviess County Public Library, and Whitesville City Hall, and on the MPO website.

In addition, three meetings will be held to provide the public with opportunities to comment on the new TIP:
- 4 p.m., October 18 in the Owensboro City Commission chambers on the fourth floor of Owensboro City Hall;
- 4:30 p.m., October 20 in the Daviess County Fiscal Court meeting room on the second floor of the Daviess County Courthouse;
- 3-7:30 p.m., October 27 in the GRADD board room at 300 GRADD Way.
Alternative formats will be made available upon request; a 7-day notice is required for alternative formats.
