Preservation Station holding Fall Market Day on Saturday in last event of year

Preservation Station Market and Event Center is hosting their Holiday Market Day on Saturday, complete with more than 100 vendors and a Thanksgiving buffet. The last event of the year, officials said the Holiday Market is always well-attended because of the variety and the ability to get started with shopping for the holidays.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Preservation Station is located at 9661 State Route 56. n a 40,000-square foot former elementary school where classrooms have been turned into boutiques and antique stores. The former school cafeteria has been converted to a 100-seat restaurant and the gym is now used as a special event venue for Market Days and weddings.

“This is our last market day of the year and our most well-attended,” said Owner Jennifer Higdon. “We will have it all: Antique, unique, vintage, handcrafted, shabby chic, rustic, boutique items galore, holiday décor, jams and jellies, handmade soaps, jewelry, old quilts, desks, shelves, chairs, dressers, beds, farmhouse decor, wall art, glassware, barnwood and salvaged pieces, designer furniture, old tools, candles, primitives, farmhouse tables, custom handcrafted furniture, chalk painted furniture completed by the pros, new items just arriving from Market, and more.”

Preservation Station Family Restaurant will host a Thanksgiving Holiday Buffet from 11 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. The menu includes turkey, dressing, gravy, Kentucky Legend ham, sweet potato casserole, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, carrots, fried apples, salad bar, fruit bar, several cold salads, cranberry sauce, cole slaw, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, brownies, and cookies.  

Deborah Coomes, co-owner of Preservation Station, added “This is our biggest event of the year, and our place is fully stocked and ready for shoppers.”
