The Junior League of Owensboro is hosting its 56th annual Charity Ball on March 18 with the theme of “Through the Looking Glass.” Organizers said proceeds directly benefit the local community by supporting Junior League programs and their mission to develop women leaders.

The event will feature 10 local young men and women serving as junior hosts and hostesses. Attendees can enjoy specialty cocktails and a plated dinner while taking in a performance by the Owensboro Symphony Jazz Trio, followed by the presentation of the junior hosts and hostesses and their traditional waltz. The evening continues with dancing and music from Blue Line Entertainment.

Attendees can also bid on a selection of silent auction items from local vendors, and pick a card at the wine pull.

“We are so excited to bring this world of color and adventure to Charity Ball this year,” said
event chair Erin Waller. “The imagination of Lewis Carroll will shine in every corner, from centerpieces made with the Junior League’s teapots, to oversized playing cards, to the wily grin of the Cheshire Cat. It’s a wonderful tribute to both the long tradition of the Junior League and to our creativity and innovation in programming as we continue to adapt to the needs of our community.”

This year’s Charity Ball will take place at the Owensboro Convention Center. Doors open for the black-tie event at 5 p.m., with dinner served at 6.

Event tickets are $125 per person and can be bought at jlowensboro.org.
