For the April program Steve Hahus will present a program on management practices for colonies to maximize honey production at Monday’s Green Valley Beekeepers Association meeting. Anyone is welcome to attend, and members of the GVBA will be available for answering questions for new beekeepers.

The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Service, 4800A New Hartford Rd, Owensboro, KY 42303.

The Green Valley Beekeepers Association, formed in 1962, is a nonprofit that serves Daviess, Hancock, McLean and other counties in Kentucky for the purpose of promoting the avocation and vocation of beekeeping. They share ideas and techniques through educational programs, mentoring new beekeepers, and providing the opportunity for camaraderie among members with mutual interests.

Their membership consists of all levels of beekeepers from beginners to advanced commercial operators.

GVBA meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Service’s classroom.
