Robert Morris is leading an event Saturday at New Life Church to repair bicycles for children who are less fortunate, saying he felt a calling from God after fixing a child’s bike recently.
Morris said he was driving down the road recently and saw three brothers riding their bikes. The youngest child’s bicycle chain kept falling off and was rusty, and the seat was too low, Morris said.
So Morris pulled over and quickly made some adjustments, allowing the child to keep up with his brothers.
“His oldest brother stopped me and said, ‘thank you sir for fixing my little brother’s bike.’ God spoke to me that day and said do this, so I’m doing it,” Morris said.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at New Life Church at the corner of Crabtree Avenue and 4th Street.
