Burger Week has made it through the weekend and earned an unofficial jingle made by The Bluegrass Boys, one of Owensboro’s youngest Bluegrass bands.

Members Cruse Edwards, 12, Noah Mason, 13, and Parker Malone, 12, initially came together to write an entire song, but the three decided a jingle could be just as catchy for the community.

“I knew that since everybody loves Burger Week, people would like the song, so that’s why we started it, and it’s cool to know that everyone’s supporting it,” Edwards said.

A family friend first challenged them to write the song, and Edwards said he started picking a melody on his guitar instantly.

Edwards said the lyrics came naturally as he thought about what a typical Burger Week looks like.

“It’s the third year, and the best is yet to come,” Malone sang during the song.

The three rotate lyrics in the song as they perform in Gary’s Drive-In. The opportunity to debut their new jingle at Gary’s came after being a connection between Malone’s father and the owners.

Edwards has been playing the guitar for roughly two years, while Malone and Mason have played the mandolin and bass for four years and four months, respectively.

With Burger Week through its first weekend, they said they have gotten to pour through town where they can—with Mason and his family having roughly five by now.

Burger Week continues through this Saturday, with 40 burgers available at different restaurants. Each of the 40 participating businesses will offer a featured burger for $7. Some locations also include a side.
