Over 500 students, faculty, staff, parents, friends and families showed up at local elementary, middle and high schools to celebrate See You at the Pole (SYATP) Wednesday morning.

According to the National Day of Prayer’s website, SYATP is “a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God.” All activities are student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led; however, parents, churches and families are encouraged to participate.

Erica Houston, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Area Director, said she was overwhelmed with the community that attended events this morning.

“This morning was precious,” Houston said. “FCA board members, new FCA staff member, Dale Poole and myself made it to several schools this morning to take in the BLESSING of seeing 100% student led See You at the Pole prayer events take place.”
