Cathedral Preschool will be hosting their 4th annual “Casino Night” fundraising event this Saturday, Nov. 10 from 6 – 11 p.m. at Immaculate Parish Hall.

“We are always looking for fun ways to generate funds for private preschool,” Office Assistant, Bonnie Stuart said, “to provide extra programs to add to the curriculum for the children.”

Cathedral preschool has been serving families since 1986 and currently has approximately 90 children enrolled. Cathedral is one of only a few preschools recognized by the State of Kentucky in 2017 with the highest rating of 5 STARs in the Kentucky All STAR program, a state-wide evaluation of preschools with an in-depth study rating the programs, policies, and daily interactions with the students and staff.

Preschool Director Pam Weafer said, “We try to keep our tuition and fees for our families as low as we possibly can,” but because the preschool does not receive any government funding, fundraisers are necessary.

“Casino Night” is the school’s primary fundraising event of the school year. This event began in 2015 at the Campbell Club to raise funds to replace outdated playground equipment. Due to increasing popularity, the event has shifted to a larger venue to accommodate more of the Owensboro community.

The attendance has increased each year with 250 – 300 people expected to attend this year. The event admission price is $20 per person and includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar serving beer and wine and plenty of gaming tables — Blackjack, Poker and Texas Hold Em. There will also be a DJ, silent auction and raffle tickets will also be drawn throughout the evening. One of this year’s raffle items is season tickets for University of Kentucky basketball.

Immaculate Church Parish Hall is located at 2516 Christie Place, for more information about tickets or to reserve a table call 270-926-1652
