For those considering a teaching or support position with the DCPS, the district is hosting a Recruitment Fair from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11 at Daviess County High School.

As teachers and students anticipate the end of the 2018-2019 school year, the Daviess County Public Schools district is thinking ahead to next school year. The DCPS currently serve 11,900 students in 12 elementary schools (preschool through grade 5), three middle schools (grades 6-8) and three high schools (grades 9-12). With a growing district, comes the need for dedicated employees who have an interest in putting “kids first.”

For those considering a teaching or support position with the DCPS, the district is hosting a Recruitment Fair from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the lobby and gymnasium at Daviess County High School located at 4255 New Hartford Road.

Prospective candidates for certified and classified positions are encouraged to attend. The event will provide opportunities to meet with principals and department managers, and learn more about the DCPS district, schools and employment opportunities.

DCPS Assistant Superintendent for Human Services, Dr. Amy Shutt, said the DCPS Recruitment Fair is a great opportunity for potential applicants to meet representatives from every school in the district.

“This is our third year and we are expanding our event,” Shutt said. “This year we are also seeking applicants who wish to work in DCPS as bus drivers, custodians, food servers and assistants.”

Those attending are encouraged to have copies of their current resume available, regardless of whether they are new to the district or currently serving in a substitute or temporary capacity.

“I love meeting so many new people who have a desire to make a difference by working with children,” Shutt said. “Working with students is a very rewarding opportunity and DCPS is a great place to work. We are looking for the very best people who want to put KidsFirst each day.”
