Isabella Spade, a fifth-grade student at Southern Oaks Elementary School, won first place in the elementary drawing category of the Kentucky Elementary and Middle School All-State Art Show.

The closing program for the display is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 26, at the Jessamine County Public Library in Nicholasville with an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. where Isabella will be presented with a certificate and medal.

The show is sponsored by the Kentucky Art Education Association.

“I’ve gotten to watch Isabella’s love for art develop over the past two years,” said SOES art teacher Elizabeth Darnell. “She is always working on new drawings and always enters my room smiling and excited about the projects we are working on in class or that she is working on in her sketchbook. I am really proud of how far she’s come and how hard she has worked this year!”
