During the 2018-2019 school year, U.S. Bank and U.S. Bank Home Mortgage invested $45,000 to sponsor Junior Achievement (JA) programs through employee fundraising efforts and direct school sponsorships. U.S. Bank has specifically used the funds to adopt Foust Elementary School, in addition to Tamarack and Estes Elementary Schools.

According to JA, U.S. Bank’s sponsorship will ensure that all kindergarten through fifth grade students receive programming to prepare them with skills needed to succeed in the workforce and achieve personal, economic success.

“We are incredibly fortunate that U.S. Bank and U.S. Bank Home Mortgage have embraced Junior Achievement as a part of their work culture,” said Dan Douglas, JA President. “The financial and volunteer support they have given us is truly outstanding.”

This announcement comes on the heels of a $15,000 grant from State Farm, which Douglas said will provide service learning opportunities to area high school students to hone essential skills and ultimately improve our local workforce. JA has been awarded seven State Farm national grants since 2013, totaling $120,524.

Old National Bank Foundation also presented a check to JA for $30,000, which will be used to support the Choose a Job, Get a Job, Keep a Job program for the next three school years.

According to a JA press release, the Old National Bank (ONB) contribution will “impact over 7,200 high school students over the next three years with a suite of high school work-readiness and career planning programs across the six counties shared in the ONB/JA footprint.”
