Daviess County Public Schools will move forward with in-person instruction Monday using an A/B model according to district officials. The decision comes despite Daviess County now being in the Red Zone of Kentucky’s COVID-19 incidence rate due to a rise in the average number of daily cases.

Students in grades K-9 had already begun in-person learning, with students in grades 10-12 set to return Monday.

All Healthy at School guidelines remain in place, including masks being required at all times by everyone in the school building.

DCPS began allowing students through the 8th-grade level to attend in-person classes on an A/B schedule beginning Sept. 14, while freshmen across the district began returning to the classroom Sept. 28.

Sophomores, juniors and seniors were scheduled to begin in-person learning on Monday — and those plans are moving forward.

On the A/B schedule, students in Group A attend in-person classes on Monday and Tuesday, participate in digital learning on Wednesday, and participate in hybrid learning on Thursday and Friday. Students in Group B participate in hybrid learning on Monday and Tuesday, digital learning on Wednesday, and in-person instruction on Thursday and Friday.
