Owensboro Public Schools announced that their “B” group of students will switch to virtual-only learning Friday due to quarantines announced Thursday evening.

According to an OPS statement posted to Facebook:

“Due to a number of quarantines that our district was notified of this evening, Owensboro Public Schools “B” group students will be Virtual only tomorrow, Friday, November 13. “A” group will have their normal distance day. District will move to full virtual beginning Monday. We apologize for the late notice and for any inconvenience this may cause.

OPS announced Wednesday that the entire district will be moving to all-virtual instruction starting Monday and continuing through Dec. 4.

Daviess County moved back into the Red Zone of Kentucky’s COVID-19 incidence rate on Nov. 5, and it has remained there due to a sharp increase in the number of daily cases — prompting school officials to make the decision.

More details on the decision to go all-virtual can be found here.
