DCPS, OPS to host press conference to announce plans for return to 5-day schedule

The Daviess County and Owensboro Public Schools districts are hosting a joint virtual press conference at 1 p.m. today to discuss a proposal for a return to five-day teaching and learning for students. Under the proposal, both DCPS and OPS would return to the classroom full time on March 22.

The proposed plans can be found below. (Note: These are only drafts at this time. They will be considered for approval on Thursday.)

Both the DCPS and OPS Boards of Education are meeting on Thursday, where they will consider the recommendation for approval. The Thursday meeting will be the regularly scheduled meeting for OPS and a special session for DCPS.

The DCPS Board of Education special meeting begins at 4 p.m. Thursday. The link to join that meeting is youtube.com/user/DCPSTV/live.

The OPS Board of Education meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. the same day. The meeting will be in person at the OPS Central Office, 450 Griffith Ave., and will not be live streamed.
