Right to Life of Owensboro opens scholarship application

The Right to Life of Owensboro Educational Foundation, Inc. intends to award a $1,000 scholarship to a student who attends high school in the Owensboro-Daviess County area. The scholarship can be applied to tuition, housing, or books.

Applications can be submitted here.

Payment will be made directly to the recipient. The scholarship may only be awarded once to a student. Applicants will not be eligible if they are a direct relative of the members of the board of the Right to Life of Owensboro.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Have a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
  • Complete high school within the same year of applying (senior only)
  • Be an active member in a school organization, community group or church
  • Show financial need

Rules

  • Recipient may enter any accredited college, university or vocational school
  • Recipient must enter college as a full-time student
  • Recipient must attach a transcript of grades from high school
  • Recipient must have 3 letters of recommendation accompanied with application. One letter must be from a teacher or sponsor of the organization in which the student is active. Letters of recommendation can not be from a relative.
  • Recipient must write a 500-word essay regarding the applicant’s plans for the future, indicating on how they will remain pro-life and spread the mission
  • All applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2021.

The Board of Directors of the Right to Life of Owensboro will make the final determination of the 2020-2021 scholarship winner.

Applications must be completed with all accompanied articles of information and mailed to P.O. Box 506, Owensboro, KY 42302 on or before March 31, 2021
