From March 22-25, students who intend to transfer from Owensboro Community & Technical College can participate in a virtual job fair. There are 35 participating colleges and universities, and students can learn about scholarships, acceptance requirements and programs of interest.

OCTC’s top transfer institutions are Western Kentucky University, the University of Kentucky, the University of Louisville, Brescia University and Kentucky Wesleyan College.

“Statistics show community college transfer students do as well or better than students who started their education at a university,” according to a release from OCTC. “Further, (Kentucky Community & Technical College System) students can save as much as $32,000 by taking their first two years at a community college. Credits transfer easily and there are many scholarship opportunities available, including two plus two programs offered by some universities.”

To register, visit the Destination: Transfer website. Local students may contact Katie Ballard at [email protected] to learn more.
