In order to help students maximize their chance to receive funding for education, Owensboro Community & Technical College’s Financial Aid office is hosting a FAFSA Fiesta on from 5-7:30 p.m. April 22.

Staff will be on hand to help answer questions and get students and families through the process, which should only take about 20 minutes to complete. Those who complete the process Thursday evening will receive a $25 gift card as an inventive.

Those interested can reserve a spot by clicking here. Interested students should bring their social security card, their 2019 tax information, and their parent/guardian tax information if they are a dependent.

The event will take place on OCTC’s Main Campus at 4800 New Hartford Road in the Financial Aid Office located in the upper level of the Campus Center. Masks and social distancing protocols are in effect for all OCTC campus events. For more information, contact [email protected] or text 270-238-8944.

“Statewide the number of FAFSA applications has declined so we want to be proactive and try and help anyone that is interested complete the process,” said Rebecca Simon, OCTC’s financial aid director. “This is the first step in making sure you maximize all your options in getting assistance for your education. Most schools require a FAFSA to be on file before you are eligible considered for institutional scholarships.”
