Owensboro Community & Technical College is celebrating their graduates with multiple ceremonies on the main campus on May 11-13.

Walk-through events are scheduled for Blandford Hall all three evenings, and graduates have reserved times in advance. Students will receive a diploma cover, a photo with the president, and a photo with their family. OCTC will share the digital pictures with the students on social media.

“We are thrilled that so many students have signed up for these events,” said Dr. Scott Williams, OCTC president. “We are excited to be able to offer these options to our graduates from this year and last year. It will be wonderful to celebrate with our students again.”

For those who prefer to remain outside, a drive-through event is available the evening of May 13. The faculty and staff are invited to attend this celebration, socially distanced, and line the parking lot in front of the Humanities Building to cheer on the graduates who will receive their diploma curbside.

Graduates from May and December 2020 were invited to participate. More than 220 students have registered to date.

The GED drive-through graduation event will begin at 6:45 p.m. May 13, and graduates have reserved times in advance. OCTC’s SkillTrain, located at the downtown campus at 1501 Frederica Street, administers GED prep and testing for Daviess and Ohio counties in Kentucky. More than 200 GED graduates are listed in the program, including graduates from 2020.
