71 DCPS students earn AP Scholar honors

The Daviess County Public Schools district announced that 71 students have been recognized by the College Board for their exceptional achievements on the college-level AP exams. 

Students take AP Exams in May after completing challenging college-level courses at their high schools. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement, based on the number of courses and exams.

The Scholar with Distinction Award was earned by 21 DCPS students who earned an average grade of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of those exams.

  • Apollo High School — 2021 graduate Nathaniel Payne and current seniors Braxton Powers and Catherine Wright. 
  • Daviess County High School — 2021 graduates Benjamin Robinson, Christopher Diaz, Daniel Martin, Emmylou Tidwell, Harold Fuchs, Isabella Sailors, and Philip Caldbeck; current seniors Hanna Forrest, Hope Ramming, Jenna Barrow, Katherine Wahnsiedler, Kylie Strehl, Maci Sanders, Sam Smith, and Savannah Dowell; and current juniors Chloe Sims, Jenna Waltrip, and Luke Taylor.

The AP Scholar with Honor Award was earned by 18 DCPS students who earned an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP exams taken, and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.

  • Apollo High School — 2021 graduates Emma Ladnier, Hannah Roberts and Isabella Riedell; and current seniors Evan Hagan, and Lilliana Ocasio. 
  • Daviess County High School — 2021 graduates Garrett Howard and Mason Ebelhar; current seniors Daniel Flick, David Abel, Katie Mewes, Kinsey Vergason, Lily Robbins, Margaret Vooris, and Nika Harrington; and current juniors Campbell Clark, James Tidwell, Loriana Phillips, and Matthew Hendrix. 

The AP Scholar Award was earned by 32 DCPS students who completed three or more AP Examinations, with grades of 3 or higher.

  • Apollo High School — 2021 graduates Emma Millay and Madison Westerfield; current seniors Arianna Hayden, Brianna Johnson, and Noelle Shelton; and current junior Harrison Dillbeck. 
  • Daviess County High School — 2021 graduates Camden Clark, Irina Boarman, Leigha Mattingly, Logan Gish, and Ross Boultinghouse; current seniors Carter Howard, Emma Haynes, Hallie Mayfield, Holly Holton, Jacob Jones, James Crews, Joshua Harwood, Lydia Dobbs, Mary Gainer, Megan Sutherland, Taryn Lanham, and Yash Patel; current juniors Chloe Richardson, Elizabeth Newcomb, Emery Fergason, Hakeem Kalik, Hannah Boehman, Maggie Stuart, Mary Nash, and Noah Norris; and current sophomore Daniel Barrow.
