Renovations at Cravens Elementary School are on track to be far enough along that students can enter front doors on Aug. 10 for the first day of school.

Chris Bozarth, Owensboro Public Schools Director of Facilities, Maintenance & Technology, said that the school is completing its latest phase of construction and will be safe for students to enter through the front doors and conduct class as usual.

The project focused on completing classrooms while school was out of session. Now as they head into the school year, one of the remaining projects will be converting the old gymnasium into the media center.

In other OPS construction news, work at Sutton Elementary School is underway as they have the foundation officially in place now. Bozarth said they are working on sewer installation now, too.

Bozarth said that they should be able to complete the construction on time.
