The Ehrlich Corporation and Red Wing Shoes of Owensboro has partnered with the Owensboro Community and Technical College Foundation to establish a scholarship and Student of the Year awards.

The Ehrlich Corporation/Red Wing Shoes Scholarship can be used to fund books, personal protective equipment, or other instructional materials required to successfully participate in and complete coursework in the following OCTC certificate, diploma, or associate degree programs:

  • GOFAME/Advanced Manufacturing Technology
  • Industrial Maintenance Technology
  • Welding Technology
  • Tech X
  • Electrical Technology
  • Computerized Machining and Manufacturing
  • Robotics and Automation

They have also established the Ehrlich Corporation/Red Wing Shoes “Student of the Year Award for GO FAME” and “Student of the Year Award for Tech X” at OCTC. The Beard Family is excited about this partnership and has signed on as a partner for five years in the amount of $12,500. Michelle and Jarrad Beard are third- and fourth-generation Red Wing business owners, with their family business getting started in Owensboro many years ago.

“The establishment of the Ehrlich Corporation/Red Wing Fund helps drive awareness of the trades and a partnership with OCTC made sense with the OCTC trade programs and the Ehrlich Corporation having paralleled missions,” Jarrad said. “This partnership ensures students are skilled and outfitted with the proper PPE to enter the manufacturing sector including Red Wing boots.”
