Matt Henry recently became the 14th recipient of the Kentucky Society for Technology and Education Impact Technical Support Award. Henry serves as a District Computer Technician at Owensboro Public Schools and has worked for 11 years in the district’s tech department.

The KySTE award is given to a technician or technical support team demonstrating outstanding achievement and leadership and supporting technology to improve education.

According to OPS Superintendent Dr. Matthew Constant, Henry goes out of his way to assist OPS in all efforts that have led to several significant milestones for the district.

“Matt’s efforts have led to the realization of several major milestones including the automation of Infinite Campus, MUNIS, Internal Inventory and Active Directory, as well as Owensboro being the first Kentucky district to move to Google-hosted email services,” Constant said.

Constant added that Henry has been quietly influencing other districts and contributing to significant shifts in the educational technology ecosystem.
