Girls Inc. of Owensboro-Daviess County’s Red on the River REMIX fundraiser was originally scheduled to be a combination virtual and live fundraiser on Friday, but it will now be an all-virtual event for the safety of the performers and the audience.
The event will be broadcast on the Girls Inc. YouTube channel and linked through Girls Inc. social media accounts.
Several local musicians are scheduled to perform and will be interspersed with testimony from community leaders and Girls Inc. members. An original painting by Aaron Kizer will be sold through an auction that will close at midnight on Aug. 1.

“Although we were disappointed to cancel the live portion of our event, U.S. Bank and Girls Inc. are very excited to celebrate Girls Inc. virtually,” said Kathryn Raymer, U.S. Bank executive vice president and presenting sponsor. “Thanks to our donors and sponsors, our girls will have greater access to the resources they need to continue receiving education and support during this crisis.”
