After selling their “Down Right Perfect Coffee” online for nearly a year, the Green River Area Down Syndrome Association is ready to take their operation to the next level. The organization will begin offering curbside coffee to the community at their new location monthly, with the first event from 7:15-10 a.m. on Monday.

GRADSA Executive director Tiffany Thrash, along with Curbside Coffee manager Laure Sapp, will join the many clients of all agents in serving the coffee.

The new GRADSA location is at 3115 Commonwealth Court — behind Pizza by the Guy off KY 54.

“With our new building comes an abundance of opportunities for GRADSA kids and adults,” Thrash said. “This event will consist of three GRADSA kids and/or adults greeting members of the community who drive to the front of the new building.”

While the coffee is free, cash donations are encouraged, as any money earned will aid in enhancing their daily operations.

GRADSA’s primary mission is to celebrate and honor all things Down syndrome, and their new curbside coffee service isn’t any different.

“Our products bring awareness to the abilities those with Down syndrome have to offer,” Thrash said. “With each donation, a child or adult with Down syndrome is given the chance to chase dreams.”

The coffee has been available at Walmart since May 2020, as well as on the nonprofit’s website at gradsa.org. Thrash said the group originally entered the coffee industry because it is a line of work that employs many individuals with Down syndrome across the county.

Those who attend the curbside coffee event will also receive a bag of sugar and creamer, along with a smile.

“We will be outside waiting for you,” Thrash said. “What a great way to start your week and make your Monday better.”
