Kentucky Wesleyan College and Wendell Foster are partnering to launch a professional networking collaborative among nonprofit leaders in the greater Owensboro area. The organizations are working to create a local branch of the Association of Professional Fundraisers.

The collaborative will provide an opportunity to connect with colleagues, engage in creative thinking, network, and hear educational presentations.

The group will meet quarterly, rotating among different agencies throughout the area. The first meeting will be held at KWC’s Activity Hall at 3300 Frederica St. (former Legacy Church) at 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 25.

Membership to the Association of Professional Fundraisers (AFP) is not a requirement to attend the free meetings. However, AFP members have exclusive access to educational training programs, tools and resources, research and access to other nonprofit professionals.

Through a grant by the Marilyn and William Young Foundation, memberships are available for up to 10 individuals at a discount of 50% for those who attend the branch meeting in August.

Nonprofit leaders who are interested in attending or who would like more information on AFP membership may email Kelly Flick at [email protected] or call 205-835-4117.
