Make-A-Wish, the nonprofit that grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, celebrates World Wish Day annually on April 29 — the anniversary of the wish that inspired the founding of the foundation. The area Make-A-Wish chapter will be holding a fundraiser with a goal of raising $30,000 to grant wishes for children in Owensboro and western Kentucky.

Make-A-Wish Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana (OKI) is partnering with Cromwell Media for a “Request-A-Thon” on the radio station 94.7 WBIO. From 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on APril 29, anyone can request songs in exchange for donations.

The 12 hours will be filled with uplifting wish stories from local families, information about the Make-A-Wish mission, and how to volunteer. To learn more, visit to find a donation map of local sponsors and businesses that are selling stars. Find more information below about how to give in person, on the phone, online, or through text-to-give during the Request-A-Thon.
