The Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club recently was awarded at a national conference for their advocacy for youth in local communities. Board member Diane Bowers additionally received an outstanding achievement award recognizing her performance and service.

The 116th Boys & Girls Club of America National Conference took place in Chicago, IL.

The Cliff Hagan Club was given the Advocate for Youth Award, which is part of BGCA’s Club Advocacy Engagement Recognition Program. This program recognizes the advocacy work Clubs and Alliances do every day, with a major emphasis on impact, creativity, and innovation with their advocacy engagement.

The CHBGC organization was presented this award in recognition of avocation efforts for Boys & Girls Clubs in local communities and state levels in partnership with Area Councils and Area Alliances.

“The partnership between Boys & Girls Clubs and Area Alliances is a vital component in advocating for our youth,” said Steve Winkler, CEO of the CHBGC. “Together we can reach new levels in our government to showcase just how important nonprofit youth agencies are to this next generation of leaders.

The W. Clement Stone Outstanding Achievement Award was presented to Bowers. The award is part of BGCA’s Area Council Leadership. Bowers received this honor in recognition of her performance and service to the Kentucky Area Council and youth of Kentucky. She served as the President of the Kentucky Area Alliance.

“It was an honor to receive this award on behalf of the work done by the entire leadership team of the Kentucky Area Council,” Bowers said. “I’m excited with what we achieved over the last couple of years and look forward to more growth in the future.”
