The Homeless Coalition of the Ohio Valley is hosting a “Service Fair” community outreach event Saturday. In addition to offering some on-site services, food, and activities, the coalition will be providing information on how they — and other organizations in the community — can help people in need.

“It’s important these folks know that they are not alone and we are there to support them,” said Blaine Mathew, President of the Homeless Coalition of the Ohio Valley.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the at Barret-Fisher parking lot at 1403 West 2nd Street.

There will be health screenings through the Audubon Area Community Care Clinic, vouchers for haircuts at local barber shops and salons, cell phone services, and other resources and information.

Local organizations will have booths at the event, including St. Benedict’s, CrossRoads, OASIS, Owensboro Regional Recovery, Help Office, Addiction Recovery Care (ARC), Daniel Pitino Shelter and several others.

“A lot of people don’t know where to find the help so this gives them a chance to connect with the services,” Mathew said.
