The Green River Area Community Foundation (GRACF) is still accepting grant applications from area nonprofits “working to transform lives” in Daviess, Hancock, McLean, Ohio, Union, and Webster counties. The grant application period is open through October 28.

The grant application can be completed and submitted online here. All applicants will receive a decision by December 15.

Funds are limited, and GRACF is unable to support all requests. Eligible organizations may request a grant of any size, up to $7,500 maximum. Applicants may request grants for general operating funds.

Grants will be awarded as follows:

  • To nonprofits providing health and dental services to the poor and needy in the Owensboro/Green River Area
  • To shelters, homes, and facilities for the homeless in the Owensboro/Green River Area
  • To nonprofits providing Arts & Culture in Daviess County
  • To nonprofits providing Social Services in Daviess County
  • To nonprofits based in and serving primarily one of the following counties: Hancock, Ohio, McLean, Union, or Webster

A grantmaking committee made up of community volunteers will review applications. GRACF is seeking proposals from organizations “who effectively make an impact and are successful in their mission” according to the application website.
