The team at Puzzle Pieces celebrated the nonprofit’s 10-year anniversary in September, but they have plans for a bigger community event on December 6 at the RiverPark Center. When Puzzle Pieces opened in September 2012 they began with 32 clients, and they now serve more than 400.

The nonprofit opened as a recreation and social option for adults with disabilities, but has grown to offer vocational training, job placement, the region’s only targeted autism programming, behavior services, residential living, and serve clients from 18 months of age through their lifetime.

“We want our community to not only celebrate our success over the last decade and the essential services we provide to 400+ clients, but also learn more about what true inclusion and supporting individuals with disabilities looks like,” said Puzzle Pieces Public Relations Director Ashley Wedding.

At the event, which is sponsored by Owensboro Health, Puzzle Pieces will recognize local community members, businesses, and organizations with awards for the difference they have made to the nonprofit in the last decade as well as for leading the way for inclusion and diversity in Owensboro.

The event will start at 6 p.m. on December 6. Tickets can be purchased online and cost $30. Puzzle Pieces is currently looking for sponsors to join them for the celebration event. For more information on sponsorship opportunities, contact Wedding at [email protected].
