Empty Bowls of Owensboro is accepting applications from organizations “that play a crucial role in the fight against hunger” to be considered as a recipient of this year’s event fundraiser dinner and silent auction. The deadline to submit an application is July 31.

Those interested in submitting an application can find it online here

“Applicants should be organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to addressing the root causes of hunger, providing sustainable solutions, and promoting long-term food security in Daviess County,” a release from the nonprofit reads. “Empty Bowls of Owensboro is particularly interested in supporting initiatives that focus on community engagement, education, and innovative approaches to combating food insecurity.”

This year’s event will be held from 6-8 p.m. on October 26 in the lobby of the RiverPark Center, located at 101 Daviess Street.

Approximately 350 tickets will be available this fall for $20 each. Any remaining tickets that do not pre-sale online will be made available at the door the evening of the event.

The ticket allows attendees to select from hundreds of handcrafted bowls made specifically for this event by local artisans, community members, and students from Brescia University.

Each participant at the event will then select one of the numerous soups made available by local restaurants, chefs, and churches for a simple dinner.

As in years past, a silent auction will also be available at the event. Any person or organization wishing to donate an item or basket for our silent auction is encouraged to reach out to the committee by email at [email protected]. All donations to Empty Bowls are tax-deductible.For more information on Empty Bowls, our sponsorships or silent auction donations, visit eboky.org/, email [email protected], or visit them on Facebook.
