On June 6 at 2:00 PM the Daviess County Public Library will host a talk by Sonya Lea, author of “American Bloodlines: Reckoning with Lynch Culture.” In her book Ms. Lea, a native of Owensboro, looks at the hanging of Rainey Bethea from her personal perspective – discussing members of her family who were involved in it; her thoughts about it; and its significance in today’s world. Her remarks will be followed by a question and answer session. The event was organized by the Owensboro Community Remembrance Project. A flyer for the event is attached.
