In observance of Christmas and New Year’s holiday, the following changes are scheduled:
City Hall, parks offices and Owensboro Transit System will be closed Monday, Dec. 24, Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019.
Sanitation will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 25 and Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019. This will put services on a one-day delay starting with Tuesday collections on Wednesday.
During the holiday season, the Owensboro Sanitation Department follows a modified collection schedule and will collect holiday trash and natural Christmas trees on the following days only: Dec. 26 to 31, OSD will collect holiday trash. Jan. 2 to 7, OSD will collect natural Christmas trees.
Extra trash collection does not include large or bulky items. Place trash in plastic bags at least two feet from the mobile cart.
For tree collection, please remove all lights and ornaments and do not put the tree inside a plastic bag.
In 2019, OSD will be closed New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
