Update: The race sponsors and training run leaders have requested the following to note for all runs:

A waiver is REQUIRED to be signed before you start the training run. Legends will open at 7 a.m. for people to go in and sign the required waiver.

Warmups begin at 7:30 a.m., so you will want to arrive before then.

Only strollers for those with disabilities are allowed. No bikes, baby strollers, in-line skates or pets.

There will not be a water station on this route and the route will be open to motor vehicle traffic.

Training runs are free and open to the public.

Wendell Foster is proud to announce that Owensboro Health is now the premiere sponsor of the Wendell Foster half marathon that will be held in Owensboro on Mar. 23.

“Owensboro Health is going to bring a lot of valuable resources to the table, including nutrition advice, help with the training runs, and more,” said John Gleason, Community Outreach Specialist at WF.

To kick off the training program associated with the half marathon, the sponsors — Owensboro Health, Legends, Rehabilitation & Performance Institute and WF — are providing incentives at the first 5-mile training run. Giveaways include a two month membership to the Healthpark, running shoes from Legends, four training sessions from RPI and a free race entry from WF.

Tomorrow is the first official training run for the race. It begins at 7:30 a.m. at Legends, located at 325 Park Plaza Drive.

The Legends’ training run schedule can be found on both Wendell Foster’s Facebook page and Legends’ Facebook page as well as in the free training guide that is available on the race website, https://wendellfoster.org/Halfmarathon/.

The giveaway winners must be present at Saturday’s training run.
