Twelve recipients honored for embodying health system’s core commitments
Owensboro Health has named its 2020 President’s Award recipients, recognizing 12 team members for their dedication to the system’s mission and core values.
The President’s Awards were established in 1996 and are presented annually. The individuals recognized embody the core commitments of Integrity, Teamwork, Excellence, Service, Respect and Innovation in extraordinary ways.
Recipients are nominated for the award by their peers, giving team members the chance to recognize those they see going above and beyond. The nomination is then reviewed by a committee made up of former award winners. Nominees’ names are kept secret, so they are selected solely for what they do, not who they are.
The awards are a closely held secret right up until the time they are presented. Recipients do not even know they were nominated until their award is presented.

President’s Award recipients, as part of their recognition, received a monetary prize. Affiliated and employed physicians receiving the award choose a charity of their choice to receive a donation from Owensboro Health in the award recipient’s name.
