If you’re in need of a quick breakfast or midday energy boost at work, Phil and Riley White have opened a nutrition store with the intention to help.

The ‘Boro Nutrition opened their location at 3211 Frederica Street Suite I — next door to Great Harvest Bread Co. — promising to provide the community with a healthy option. Open from 6:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, co-owner Phil White said that their drinks provide a new boost to people’s day.

“Our shakes are a full meal replacement … it’s not just a protein shake, it’s actually formulated to be a meal replacement,” Phil said. “Our teas are full of vitamin C, they give you a lot of energy. They are green tea-based, so it’s natural caffeine.”

White said bringing this business to Owensboro has been a lifelong journey, as he said his mom used to own a similar location in Texas where he used to work in his younger days. Eventually White met his wife Riley while in the military service, and they went on to start a business in Clarksville, Tennessee.

Soon after that, they moved and opened Henderson Nutrition last June. When it came to starting the Owensboro location, White said he was thankful for the way the community has welcomed them thus far.

“I feel like the community is really fun,” he said. “Having KWC across the street and Brescia right down the street is great, and people come over and support us.”
