During the pandemic, Owensboro native Brittany Wethington created Wethington Telemedicine Practice to provide more accessible healthcare to the community. With many people still concerned about the dangers of COVID-19 and other illnesses, she’s elected to continue providing acute care to the community from the comforts of their homes.

Wethington is a licensed nurse practitioner and offers her services to individuals across Kentucky. She specializes in physical, mental, and spiritual health and offers acute and chronic care.

“I know there are people still ‘covid-shy,’ who do not like to be exposed if possible,” Wethington said. “That is where my practice kicks in; I am available when doctors’ offices are closed and on weekends to serve as a primary care provider or as a provider who helps with your acute sick needs.”

Wethington’s inspiration to create the telemedicine practice stems from her desire for flexibility within her busy life.

“My inspiration came from being a healthcare provider, mother of two girls, being busy in church – all of the titles I carry daily,” she said. “I wanted to be able to do all of the things I love with flexibility.”

The same flexibility she seeks for herself is what she strives to extend to the families she serves. She said there are still times when it’s necessary to go into an office, but there are several treatments she can provide virtually.

“Life is too busy to take off from work and get your sick child or yourself to the doctor’s office and wait in waiting rooms when you have so many things on your to-do list,” Wethington said.

She said she is here to serve the patient while they are on a quick break at work, commuting to and from somewhere, or when after normal office hours when many facilities are closed and a parent needs some guidance caring for a sick baby.

Wethington promotes a family atmosphere within the telehealth practice and takes pride in offering easier accessible healthcare.

“At Wethington Telemedicine Practice, I see my patients as a part of the family — and family is always my top priority,” she said. “My telemedicine practice invites you to become a part of this growing and supportive community.”
