Another national publication is touting Owensboro as a must-see tourist destination. Business Insider lists Owensboro as one of the best 17 places in the United States to visit this fall. Owensboro is mentioned with Bowling Green and Paducah, Kentucky as the Kentucky Triangle that is full of autumn events.

“We’ve been working with Bowling Green and Paducah to form partnerships to help promote western Kentucky as a whole,” said Dave Kirk, Destination Management Visit Owensboro.

The article talks about the beautiful fall foliage in the area, including Owensboro’s Sassafras tree which is believed to be the world’s largest sassafras tree.

“All feature gorgeous fall foliage and lots of events. In Bowling Green, you can take advantage of the weather to enjoy fall festivals and explore Mammoth Cave National Park. In Owensboro, you’ll find lots of bourbon (perfect for fall!) and barbecue, as well as a great farmers’ market. Paducah is a UNESCO Creative City, full of history and art, and there’s a fun pumpkin patch to visit as well,” said Jessica Booth, Business Insider writer.

“There are so many events occurring in Owensboro this fall. From farm adventures to the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum opening. We’ve got numerous sporting events, concerts and shows just around the corner. How can you not love fall in Kentucky,” Kirk said.
