A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans an extended closure of Old KY 54 in Daviess County starting Wednesday, March 20, 2019.

Old KY 54 (County Road 1129) will be closed at milepoint 3.55 to allow construction of a new bridge over a Branch of the North Fork of Panther Creek.

This closure is expected to be in place for about 40 days while the contractor demolishes the existing structure and constructs a new bridge at the site.  There will be no marked detour as access will be maintained from each end of Old KY 54.

This closure of Old KY 54 is approximately 0.34 of a mile east of Jack Hinton Road and 0.7 of a mile west of Old State Road.

Cambry Contracting is the prime contractor on this $337,595 bridge replacement project.  The target completion date is July 1, 2019.

This project is part of the Bridging Kentucky program which is designed to repair or replace 1,000 critical bridges over 2 years.  For more information on the program go to www.bridgingkentucky.com.
