Allegiant Air won’t be taking their normal hiatus from Owensboro over the next couple of months, though they will still take a short break and their flight schedule will be slightly different through October.

Allegiant offers flights from Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport (OWB) to Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB).

Airport Director Tristan Durbin said it’s common for Allegiant to go on a 6-8 week hiatus from OWB, typically between early August and early to mid October.

This year, Allegiant will take a two week break around the upcoming Owensboro Air Show, which is set for Aug. 13-15. Allegiant’s last flight prior to that two-week break is Aug. 2, and they will then return on Aug. 19.

Durbin said when Allegiant returns, the flights will shift to Sundays and Thursdays rather than the typical Monday and Fridays. They will continue with the Sunday and Thursday flights until Oct. 8, when they will then return to their typical Monday and Friday schedule.

“The Owensboro-Daviess County Regional Airport is excited to inform the community of the additional flights thanks to our partnership with Allegiant Air,” Durbin said. “Allegiant Air has been an important part of connecting this community to Florida over the past 12 years, and we look forward to providing exceptional air service as always.”
